In the second half of the decade the 2010s, crime fiction experienced a resurgence in popularity. Something about these gory or crafty tales appeals to a very broad audience.
The popularity of the "True Crime" subgenre is largely due to the variety of media outlets available to people today, including podcasts, TV, documentaries, and many others. But let's not overlook the format that started it all off and remains one of the best ways to consume content: true crime novels.
