The main objective in Paper.io is to expand your colored territory while preventing opponents from cutting your trail. You start with a small base and grow it by drawing lines outside your area and reconnecting them to your territory. Once the loop is complete, the enclosed space becomes yours.
There is no time limit in paper io. The player who claims the largest territory and survives against all opponents will dominate the leaderboard. Matches continue until you are eliminated or until you cover the map completely.
Beginner Strategies for Paper.io
Expand Safely Around Your Base
When starting a new game, avoid making large loops. Expand gradually in small steps around your base to minimize risks.
Avoid the Map Edges Early On
Although the edges of the map can feel safe, they limit your movement options. It is easier to trap yourself near the boundary if another player cuts your line.
Learn to Defend
Always pay attention to the trails of other players. If someone enters your territory, you need to react quickly to stop them from stealing your area.
